The AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) classes recently toured the AT&T Drive Studio located near Georgia Tech. The Drive Studio is AT&T’s research and development facility where they conduct trials on new ways to connect everything, including automobiles to each other via the web. Referred to as the “Internet of Things”, this represents some of the very latest technology that companies around the world are using or planning to use.
The AVID program is one of the many programs the Riverwood Foundation supports. AVID is a college-readiness program designed to increase school-wide learning and performance. It is already established in many Fulton County high schools, where it has increased both graduation rates and the number of college-bound students.
