AVID Students Visit Colleges to Prepare for Life After Graduation

Over 40 11th grade AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) students from Riverwood recently visited Clayton State University and Kennesaw State University for an information session and campus tour. These visits and more are planned to assist these juniors as they begin to think about life after high school and higher education.

Over 80 9th and 10th grade AVID students are also beginning to think about life post high school and plan to visit the University of North Georgia on 10/21.  Like their junior counterparts, this tour will begin to pave the way for planning for college and beyond.

AVID is one of the signature programs of the Riverwood Foundation as is designed to prepare students that are traditionally underrepresented in higher education for success in high school, college and career.
